Although I had only a cheaper and smaller version of an unfamiliar manufacturer in mind, since this was not the classification A ++, I chose this KGK of Bauknecht. The delivery took place on time and easily the agreed date by DHL about 1 week after ordering. The old equipment has also taken the same. After parking in the kitchen suppliers insisted on's unpacking to see available to any transport damages. The packaging is made of foil and a bottom plate and 4 stable corner posts made of styrofoam. Since I was not sure who is responsible for the disposal of the packaging and is described under "Old Device Disposal" here on Amazon and no clear rules, I did everything disposed in 2 yellow bags themselves.
The refrigerator is very large (186.5 cm), as "long guy" but perfect for me. The freezer reaches about 85cm above the ground, then the refrigerating compartment begins, the beautiful one (s) no longer have to bend down every time so far after beer ....
The device has 2 rear wheels and 2 front adjustable feet for leveling. After clipping on 2 plastic spacers on top of the cooling coils, you can already set it to its final location, which can be handled by one person entirely. Tackle and slide the link above. The doors have no handles but only recesses (top and bottom of the refrigerator compartment and the top of the freezer compartment). They close very tightly and firmly. To open it just needs a little power, let's see how it is after a few months.
The refrigerator compartment is very spacious and consists of 4 compartments with glass floors and a vegetable compartment. Are located on the door 3 shelves and a bottom bracket for 6 eggs, why only 6 .... no idea here of the manufacturers could make improvements, but is not absolutely essential for a purchase. Even big 1,5l bottles found in the lower door space. The interior lighting is bright enough. The thermostat can be adjusted continuously, has 3 markers (min, med, and max) and is compared to my old unit a bit heavier than normal. Even a few more subdivisions would have been in my opinion certainly not bad.
The freezer compartment is very spacious with 3 compartments. The upper part has a flap that closes well (when closing, recover, so it clicks). They include one large and one middle compartment with plastic inserts. The frozen up or the boxes are placed directly on the cooling coils.
The volume is in the normal range, only the first start and cooling down were often gurgling and somewhat unfamiliar squeak to be heard, which have now disappeared after a few days.
The refrigerator is thanks to its large cubic capacity certainly suitable for a 4-person household, a little oversized for me alone, but alone worth buying if only because of the very low power consumption and low price.
This brings me now to the main reason for the acquisition.
My old KGK had recently a power consumption of no less than 950! KWh / year on the middle stage 4 in a not even optimal cooling temperature of approximately 11 ° C (measured by a flow meter costs over a period of 15 days). At a current price of around 0.25 / KWh corresponds to the current cost of 237.50!
After 4 days of measurement I come now with this great KGK of Bauknecht on only about 185 kWh / year (at setting 2 or MED). The cooling temperature is 8 ° C, the freezing temperature is -20 ° C (measured with 1/3 filling of refrigerator and freezer compartments with an external refrigerator thermometer in each middle compartment) at a temperature of about Kitchen 23 ° C. This corresponds to the above current price, cost of only 46.25 / year !!! Makes a saving of approximately 190 / year. Thus, the acquisition has paid off after a few years. I can only guess who owns an older device, use a meter to check times the cost of electricity. It is worth it!
Therefore I a strong buy recommendation!

After almost 2 years I'm still very pleased with the refrigerator. The power consumption moves so the 165-175 kWh / year, which corresponds with my current electricity tariff costs of approximately 45 / year.
Defrosting the freezer compartment is easy, you just have to take out one of the top small door shelves of the refrigerator compartment, turn around and put down in front of the refrigerator and fold out the plastic drain.
The creaking and squeaking noises, which I initially thought they were gone, are still there. However, they are of a sporadic and listen to, so strange as it sounds, at times by a whining dog or a cat mauzenden. I've got used to the "signs of life".
