1) So even with relatively good over-ear headphones I hear at normal volume the fan to blow (next to the rattling noise from the left fan). This problem is likely to be a bearing defect, have it sent back because of it.
2) If the light is indeed a show effect quite nice, but would've been great if you can manually and off this. Likewise, it might not be bad to have a general on-off switch as you may not always need the cooling pad, but it is not so specially stake out from the USB port or want to remove from the laptop.
3) Since the fans is bringing tidy air in motion the cooling capacity of course accordingly. Previously had a Logitech N100, also had a relatively good cooling performance, but the volume was lower CLEARLY.
4) What I liked was the "pass-through" function of the USB connector. Could my keyboard anyway with the additional functions which use backlighting, etc..
Therefore: Buy recommendation for gamers who are on the permanent blue light, want to have a proper cooling capacity and have very good headphones, otherwise you will certainly the wind noise of the fan will get on your nerves.
Otherwise, for all ordinary petrol, PC nerds, programmers, etc., I do not recommend this cooling pad.
