Live! (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This is the definitive Marley / Wailers live album. Recorded at London's Lyceum, it contains some of the largest of Marley's songs: Trenchtown rock, No Woman, No Cry, I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up, Stand Up, Kinky Reggae among other things one hears in "final" versions - at least live, because the definitive studio version of "Kinky Reggae" as contained in the posthumously published "Talking Blues". Unfortunately, the sound on "Live!" not nearly as good as during the subsequent live album "Babylon By Bus". Until now you could hardly stand it (I at least) to hear those classics in horrible sound faded. "B. bb" was me therefore always much rather, even though it is not "I Shot The Sheriff" or "No Woman, No Cry" contained. But one must not make obsolete by newer earlier works.
Sound-wise, you get delivered the optimum with the latest remastered version. The sound is not a paragon of fullness and pressure, but sounds very balanced and reasonably clean. Much more was probably not rauszuholen from the bands: Even remastering engineers can do magic!
