Said title song with tears, without being overbearing, he makes bastards small and motivation problems void. "I know my weakness, know my voice, and I believe in grace and choice / and I know Perhaps my heart is farce, but I'll be born without a mask."
In Whispers in the Dark can fall in love only. So innocent. And then yet powerful.
The first single I want to keep wait what they promised, but only that you have to remember in the company of the other tracks: It's even better than that.
Holland Road is melancholic, but it tells a story. A bit like driving a car, a trip, like the feeling from the way his, also through life. For the hard times that there are sometimes. "If you believe in me, I still believe."
Ghosts That We Knew is one of the quieter songs on the album. But no less beautiful. Quite the contrary. It is quite large. "So give me hope in the darkness and I want to see the light Cause oh, They gave me a fright search. I want to hope as long as you like, just promise we will be alright." It tells the story not want to be alone, from hope. The Joker for moments when you really want to give up. Because one is just not doing.
Lover of the Light then saves the mood again. Suitable for summer nights to sing along with a slight undertone urpositiv who asks to forget the old mistakes. A song of love to life and love itself. If you let it, it overflows with it, and you want to embrace the world. (Mumford & Sons stated.)
Lover's Eyes sounds different, begins softly, sadly. A melancholy man sings about a love that overwhelms him from time to time. Beautiful, clear. Even if some may be too much love in one shot. Should listen to sichs therefore naturally anyway.
Reminder is no different. Topic-distance relationship. Or maybe unilateral separation? "A constant reminder of where I can find her, a lights that might give up the way, is all that I'm asking, for without her I'm lost, Oh my love, do not fade away." A song of longing, the quietest on the album.
Hopeless Wanderer expected only to slow again, and you wonder, OK, where's the rum out in love or not? Answer: 1:35. In old freshness, as it should be. Melancholy also plugged in here, but the melody does not hurt the song.
And then, almost at the end, Broken Crown. The darkest song on the album. (Maybe useful when all the love has gone from before the opposite?) "Better not to breathe than to breathe a lie." But even the strongest. The refusal of a scapegoat. He is full of strength, and, so, in frustration, before fainting, anger, and always before melody and lyrics strength, but just something you need now sometimes. "Cause in this twilight, how dare you speak of grace?" Mumford & Sons not only let a disgusting even in such moments.
Below My Feet brings a then bounce back. It is understated, but beautiful. It asks for patience, therefore, a not abandon.
Not with Haste, the last song (unfortunately, unfortunately!), Is a bit quiet and a bit epic. It tells of the life and of those summer nights when you'd Lover of the Light sing. From times when you actually believe that everything will be fine and you hinkriegt everything in this sweet naivety. "We will run and scream, you want to dance with me, they'll Fulfill our dreams, and we'll be free / and we will be who we are, and they'll heal our scars, sadness will be far away." And here we leave the gentlemen, because it should be.
Conclusion / Favorites: Babel (! Very clear), Holland Road, Ghosts That We Knew, Lover of the Light, Hopeless Wanderer & Broken Crown. Either way is good for everyone. An album for driving, for at night, for the day, to dream, to tackle things. And always (so it goes at least to me) is because the internal image of a road that passes at one. The album, yes, do not know, brings a further. But even apart from semi-pathetic, personal and emotional impressions: The album is great. Five stars from me.
It may be that some instruments, lyrics and song selection are well known. Nothing New. But why should you buy an album from a band that you already know? Mumford & Sons invent with Babel not the wheel, but that they must also not success or not. What they do, they can now times. And that extremely well.
