Light and shadow ... top for newcomers, hardware flop

Use the BlackBerry Classic for about a week as my primary phone.
As a longtime user of BlackBerry devices and services such as Curve, Pearl, Bold, Torch, I am of course the release of BB10 been at the start, and sat on a Z10, then a Z30 and finally a Passport to date for Classic.
BB10 offers plenty of innovative new features compared to the previous days BBOS.

However, if you have little to no apps on the smartphone needs and satisfied with the board means that receives a solid, processed implement a top keyboard, good reception characteristics and the usual, good call quality of a BlackBerry for about 400.- EUR.

The Classic comes with the latest version of BB10 (10.3.1.x), this allows uA that you can use the new desktop enhancement Blend, which projected the entire contents of the Classic to the desktop of a computer or tablet, without the data there cache - the data sovereignty has so with only the BlackBerry device.
It is striking that the further development of BB10 colorful and not always user-friendly is - but that may possibly be a matter of taste.

Has biggest shortcoming for a device of this class and with the BlackBerry to fight always, is the miserable performance of the built-up (8 MP) camera. I know of no manufacturer of slower over a auto focus has a BlackBerry. Useful photos of moving objects are a matter of luck or almost impossible. The image quality indoors with artificial light are average, location shots in good lighting conditions are ok - but in total, the camera including its scope and the interplay between hardware / software bad and unacceptable for an actual device -. Even the Passport with 13 MP has defies more power to overcome such constraints and is inferior as compared to the current iPhone / Android devices.

However, if an "Alt-device" such as a Bold9900 for Classic changes - which is found in this device quickly to right, will see a significant increase in performance and decent battery life and otherwise can have a lot of fun with it.

For someone who has already had experience with the current smartphones from the competition, can only the phys keyboard, the form factor and the operating system to convince itself -. Not more. Therefore, my recommendation is addressed only to change Willige who used a BBOS device to date.

Conclusion:
Classic is not just for the return to old strengths, but unfortunately on the techn. Equipment of the device.
My requirements are not fully met - but the Classic has vital things on board that make it to my daily companion and communication device # 1..
