I have this model on the Christmas tree now for about two weeks. Since last year's model was no longer available and the extension candles for the previous model are still outrageous expensive than this model 2011, I decided for the current version - among other things due to the fact that the light color should be a little warmer than the old candles. But think. At Christmas I know as much as I do my best, no difference from the previous model. Where am however very well see a difference, compared to the old small Kerzchen with cable. The lights not only twenty times more beautiful than this one, but twenty times brighter.
The brightness of images this light is not too large. What, however, very surprised me is that I have squandered two sets of batteries in just two weeks. There is only one (in numbers 1!) LED installed each candle, and I turned on the lights only in the evening. The batteries, which I have used, were not high-end batteries, but also not cheap things. They had 2200 and 2400 mAh (different manufacturer, the supplied batteries I have not used), and it was not only individual candles that had failed. Or. have flashed before the failure. During last year's model that was so, and I was hoping that is rectified here, but that was probably too much expectation. It's annoying as well when you evenings sitting on the sofa, listening to carols and Christmas wreath in front of fireplace and reading a book, and suddenly it starts to flash. At 20 candles the likelihood is veeeery great that a battery during the evening gives up the ghost.
Unfortunately, the remote control does not have any particularly great range. To ensure that actually on or go out all the candles, you really have to stand right next to the tree and to the security check again go around it. Sit on the sofa and the lights is not power at three meters standing tree not in it.
Finally, I would like to mention on the negative side still an oddity that I noticed during simultaneous battery replacement several candles. Not the thread of the clamping feet or the shots on the bodies of the candle are of different sizes. So you can not open all the candles, replace all the batteries and close the candles again somehow. You have exactly the bodies assign the right shells, otherwise include some candles incorrect.
But since I do not want to stir things up only, I will mention that the candle itself looks okay and keep the clamping elements quite well if they are properly fixed. Is also easy of construction compared to candles with power cables.
The bottom line, however, I use next year again prefer the old candles with cable. The brighter, light up nice, using a radio-controlled socket can also (with the word "also" here really is inappropriate) on and off remotely. I will not say that it was a waste of money, what I paid for the candles, but in hindsight, it does hurt but already to have spent so much on a so immature product.
