Belle and Sebastian have become finally grown up. Is it bad? No, if the songs do not suffocate in professionalism and routine. And they do not here. As much as I initially liked the imperfect - the slightly skewed songs, the tune recorders, the naivety and the timid gesture - so I guess even now that B & S finally have the ability to play its still stunning songs also stunning. Lyric Stuart Murdoch is at the height of his art ("Ghost figures of past, present, future haunting the heart", "Little Miss plucky, pluck your eyebrows for the crowd"), music makes the band a virtuoso round envelope of the stylistic devices Pop the gaps and successfully transported into the 60s now, and the care of the arrangements is in a very nice old-fashioned sense, and therefore most welcome (here one should still not ironed smooth, aseptic Klangwelt expected - thankfully). Do you now the "old" B & S after crying? Is it possible, of course. I rejoice at this rather beautiful drive because such a moving, friendly pop music is very rare, while bumbling school bands can be seen in every gym in this country.
