The Gardena Aerator EVC 1000 is obtained after several appointments had been canceled to rent a device from the manufacturer. The expectations were so high: Finally a separate device, which should of course have a high utility value. Unfortunately, this is not to confirm the Gardena EVC 1000 without further notice. The main criticism: the side of the housing can be adjusted according to the scarifying their degree of wear. For this purpose a fixed to a small leaf spring lever is locked in a recess in the housing. There is a transport position (roll top), position 1 (for new roller with maximum diameter), position 2 and 3 for increasingly worn rollers. And in the manual is clearly pointed out that "the wear compensation is not the height adjustment. The adjustment of the roll without visible wear can cause damage to the scarifying or overload the motor." Unfortunately, the leaf spring which pushes the lever in the lock, so weak that the roller is moving independently from position 1 to position 3 - it can not absolutely prevent. This leads not only to those described in the operating problems but also to a total "disheveled" turf. We have then the lever provisionally fixed at the brand new device with strong textile tape - then we went. Now was the Second complaint: The work result could be better. We have places a lot of moss in the lawn, and at these points the unit has been brought only about 50%. (Previously we had the lawn mowed on, after notification of the lawnmower, 6 cm height.)
