- The machine is small, handy and not so hard, they will fit into any kitchen space. You could even take while traveling (there are for it specially a small hard case, if you need to, I do not know, I did it not).
- It is easy to use: it has only an on / off switch, a switch for each espresso and regular cup size and the lever for the capsule holder.
- The amount of water can be adjusted individually and save.
- 16 capsules tasting included.
- The capsules are made of recyclable aluminum and can be disposed of or discharged in a Nespresso boutique with its contents after use in the yellow bin / bag.
- The machine is emptied completely when these times longer not needed (eg holiday.).
- It has a power-saving mode and turns off automatically after 9 minutes (can be extended to 30 minutes).
- Fast heat-up: about 25 seconds. One can already during this stage, press the coffee button, the coffee flows only when the machine is ready.
- For the use of large cups or glasses simply flips up the drip tray. It falls on its own back down when the cup / glass is removed - thus is dripping avoided on work surfaces.
- 19 bar high-performance pump.
- Collecting container for up to 11 capsules (I even had 13 in it).
- She looks great, is softly lit and lights up red when the water tank is empty.
- The coffee selection is huge: from mild to strong flavor, different roasts ...
- Service telephone number (also to order).
Disadvantages of Pixie:
- The capsule price per cup is naturally high compared to a 500g pack of coffee. But one has to have more choice and Little drinkers with the capsules always fresh coffee in the house.
- Possibly would bother me that you can order the capsules only on Internet or by phone, if you, like me, Nespresso boutiques has not exactly close.
- When ordering via the Internet Order Only certain units possible (minimum amount = 50 capsules -the are 5 rods)
Can you come to terms with the aforementioned disadvantages, one has a great machine.
Another tip regarding the dripping. After use, open the capsule holder and the same can easily open, dripping little to nothing after.
Update 22.10.2012 (machine is now about ten months in use): The machine is running like clockwork, nothing is leaking, the Operating Temperature is like the first day, the crema is still fine.
Update 23/06/2013: Since the patent for capsules from Nestlé has run out, there is always more capsule manufacturer with Nespresso coffee capsules compatible systems. For all those who might be interested, here is a test site of some alternatives, I have found these days browsing:
