The set list will vary compared to Hammersmith concert a little, but contains numerous duplications. Overall, the concert falls slightly shorter than in the Hammersmith publication. This time, SH has invited some guests: alongside John Wetton that the course comes in Firth of Fifth and Amanda Lehmann who may present an acoustic version of Ripples, help this time Ray Wilson (Carpet Crawlers and I know what I like) and Roine Stoilt (guitar in return he often Giant Hogweed) from. Especially the appearance of Ray Wilson is very successful for me. For this reason alone because it is Ray Wilson, who has presented the music of Genesis in recent years repeatedly very successful live what was every now and then also negative chalked him. Maybe there someday greater cooperation between Hackett and Wilson for the project Genesis Revisited III (well that's wishful thinking, is not actually here).
Overall, the band Steve Hackett a great concert delivers again. The guys are well established from the long tour, it shows. Nad Sylvan tried in to back again and again with theatrical deposits in the foreground, while it is striking that it is always placed in the setting on the stage a bit behind SH (really unusual for a singer). On the CDs you have one or another announcement of SH cut out or cut what the disks but does no harm. Musically my highlight still remains: Suppers Ready on this piece, I will not get enough in years. The new pieces (Carpet Crawlers, Giant Hogweed, The Fountain of Salmacis and Ripples) fit well into the overall structure. The Return of the Giant Hogweed is downright brilliant through the speakers but it remains for me a dispensable piece (matter of taste).
About picture and sound of the DVD I would not comment at this point. Since I have selbige enjoyed only on standard stereo equipment and for me 5.1 sound anyway not relevant.
Do you need this CD / DVD, if you live at Hammersmith already calls his own? Not really, and quite strictly. As Genesis occasionally handset or beginner you may be best served with a variant. For anyone who wants a fantastic presentation extraordinary treasure of songs to make a foray into the creative world of the 70's, I can highly recommend the disc but.
