The Pen nibs wear out very quickly and after only 2 months of occasional use my canvas was quite scratched and I had already consumed 3-4 Nibs. The pen nibs use naturally mostly unilateral off (because I use the pen buttons, I can hold the pen in only one way) and then cut sometimes ordinary scratches in the drawing surface.
Eventually, the idea came to me just a DIN A4 paper to glue on the canvas (fixed with adhesive at each corner on the tablet) and what can I say: I have since 2 months the same Pen Nib and it looks almost like new! In addition, the drawing area is protected by the A4 paper from further scratches. The feel now I like it even better than the smooth, original canvas. When Intuos 5M exactly fits an A4 sheet in the workspace - with a smaller or larger tablet, the paper can be easily cut accordingly. In addition, this solution is absolutely cheap (the price of a sheet of paper) and to save money for expensive display films (if there is). I do not know how my Intuos 5M would have looked like without the piece of paper after 2 years of use ...
So thumbs (the strong abrasion due more to the surface of the Intuos 5M) high for the nibs and in combination with a sheet of paper with Intuos 5 Tablets keep Nibs also really long!
