Long Live Rock & Roll!

Led Zeppelin IV (CD)

Customer Review

When one is a young campfire guitarist vaguely nourishing the hope of wrapping gonzs, there is a base directory essential to know: "Say it is not so" Murray Head, "Angie" of Stones, "Hotel California" by the Eagles, "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas .... Also "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who, whose power of seduction was revealed to me later on (best used with a girl in the eyes blue ...). Avoid "Born in the USA" by Bruce S, especially if one is not born in the States and "what she has my mouth" Johnny H, no need to imply problems where none!

And of course "Stairway to Heaven" ....

The Airship Leaded released his fourth album in 1971 after the monumental "Led Zeppelin I" and "Led Zeppelin II" and the country "Led Zeppelin III". An album that starts strong with two titles anthology: first the great "Black Dog" with its riff a bit choppy and his high-pitched singing, where Robert had fun doing vocals in "A", " A "," A "," A ", while Jimmy manages to play guitars harmonized with one guitar! Yes, but with two races! too strong! Then "Rock & Roll", my favorite piece of Led Zep, a title that alone justifies the purchase of this album. It moves Bonham serious and rarely as strong typed! Now that's rock!

"The Battle of Evermore" is, it must be said, a bit boring ..... but that's nothing compared to the future "D'yer Mak'er!"

And now the object of discord: "Stairway to Heaven", there are pros and there are fast contre.Trop to make a good slow, yet it is a great song with a beautiful solo and still produces impresses. It is also a saw that was heard again and again, until the overdose and whose paternity is contested. While there is no doubt that Clapton has shamelessly pumped on his "Let it grow", do not we say also that Led Zeppelin would surreptitiously borrowed from "Taurus" Spirit? The debate is open ....

For the rest, I'm not a big fan of "Misty Mountain Hop" I zap rule. I much prefer "Four Sticks", even if I also zap .... what a great invention the Zapping!

"Going to California" is relaxing and not painful like "the battle of Evermore" ... I like!

Finally, "when the levee breaks" is fine, heavy at will with a harmonica playing and bottleneck that for once I stand!

For "Rock & Roll" !!!
