Looks great! But the Gamplay has nothing to do with its predecessors!

First, something about me:
I'm a big fan of the first hour DB. I've seen all the episodes of DB, DBZ and DB GT.
Have all the games from 1-3 Budokai (PS2), 1-3 Tenkaichi (PS2), Infinite World (PS2), Burst Limit (PS3), Raging Blast 1 + 2 (PS3) and the recently released Dragon Ball Z HD Collection ( PS3) played out and guess that I thus have a good look and would rate this game compared to the others and also will.

I got me last year in time for the release the collector's edition of Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi risen. This is the only DB game that I have not played to the end.
A preliminary, the Statue of Gohan looks really great, really nice! At the there is nothing to complain about.

When I got the game, the disc was framed on the same evening.

Below I will only comment on game.

Graphics:
The game just looks great! The graphics are a real looker!
It is probably the most beautiful DB-game when it comes to graphics. The other games do not look bad. The view, of course, great, but this game turns it up a plan.

Story- / hero mode:
What I also like the hero mode ", in which one, regardless of the original story, create their own heroes and can therefore own" story can play through. However, the lack of different equipment "is too large. There are only three choices types and a handful of hair styles, etc. Of course you can also find some in the level, but that's really little. Thus, the figures look most like Goku and his followers. I think that's a shame because the idea I find great and is something new. In Story Mode / hero mode is as flies, similar to Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi (2 or 3 am no longer so sure ^^ ) on a map. That's what I liked at the time and I like that even today.
However, some important battles have been removed, what I can not quite understand.

A beautiful Zwischsequenz like DBZ Budokai 1 does not exist. But the whole struggle is beihnahe a cutscene and from time to time comes then nevertheless times an on and looks really good. As a bonus, then comes even an animation of Dragon Ball Z Kai (the revised Anime! Very nice! :-)

Character selection:
The character selection is not the truth! Rose the characters of Budokai Tenkaichi 1 to 3 steadily on, here is a real decline. Ok, in Burst Limit it was also a decline, but because I see more, although that is not true, as Budokai sn 1 remake, because it is the first game for the PS3 was indeed (just as then Budokai 1). ;-)
In Raging Blast 1 + 2 then came just been added a few characters that make it so no film, no series was. From the character selection Tenkaichi 3 was still the best! Here it's been disappointing, especially if you already called Ultimate Tenkaichi ". Since I have infomiert me first, I was already aware that the character selection makes a small decline. This was for me but not that important, but I found it pity.
Despite the little things that bother me if I had until here loosely 4, probably. even 5 star given.
But now comes the point that bothers me most: The gameplay!
That makes me so much, I never thought.

Gameplay:
How should I put it that way?
It is located on a large, recordable card, like you know it from the Tenkaichi / Raging Blast series. There are two points melee "and ranged combat". Man kan make super attacks "like Kame-hame-ha" only from afar. I was used to from any position a super attack "fire that is not now more. But that is still not the problem. The problem itself is that there is no real fight" are more, because if you in to melee " and is after one opponent missed two, three Beating, immediately is a Quicktime Event "is displayed, where you have to press only rectangle or triangle. Without question, it looks damn good !!! But it is repeated constantly, with every fight and it looks almost always the same. Thus, the game is very boring after the first 2/3 battles. And it's a matter of luck whether you win or lose a fight. After Can "is no longer in demand here. Very, very badly done. A little variety bring even a fight against large" opponents as Goku against Vegeta (Wehraffe). All thing this repeats itself over and also always looks the same. Game goes by quickly lost.
As I said, the appearance itself, there is also nothing to complain about. But the combat system is really bad and just Mies. One probably. it's just a matter of habit but the gameplay has nothing to do with its predecessors! Nevertheless, I say it again, it looks really good!

Conclusion:
My previous favorite DB Games (Budokai 3, Tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2) can not be topped. For me, this game gets 2 stars, but only because I'm a big DBZ fan and Ultimate Tenkaichi is easy to look beautiful. But the gameplay is not playable simply caves "and bad for me. I think it's because of the bad gameplay, as the weakest DB game for PS3! I found the predecessor on the PS2 better, even Budokai 2, with the crappy story (I tell only chess) is still before the game. But since it looks so damn good, I'll still 3 stars. One or the other is determined to cope with the management, I do me something hard because I "better" from the predecessors'm used to.

It hurts me to give the game only 3 stars because it looks really great.

Very, very bad. Better gameplay would have brought 4/5 stars, so only 3!
