There are now ten years! What a sound, what a Endzeitstimmung! 'Street Cleaner' is indelibly on my memory to the beginning of the nineties. The perfect soundtrack to heartbreak and depression, which plagued me even then. Justin Broadrick, temporarily hard drug addict, set to music the despair of baseless emptiness delivered apostate Catholics whose God is irretrievably dead, and yet from his conditioning is never really free. The dead religions of Christianity (represented by the death metal context) and the belief in progress (Pure Power Plant and Industrial rhythm-roots) bear the hideous changeling who will inherit the earth ... alone, because everything else is dead!
