Lots of light (the display), some shade (the GPS, MP3, gravel)

Before I grew me this equipment, I read the reviews carefully. It was extensively discussed all the points, so I knew what to expect. In: a top hardware with surprisingly sophisticated firmware.

Still, I needed a full three days to struggle through me to keep the phone. In addition to the great benefits there are genuine criticisms:

1) The "GPS" - a joke, but a really bad-intentioned. The Samsung own Route66 is not to be used, the cards provide no information on the particular site, although already 800MB in size. To me it is only succeeded once, to let the lure position. The receiving hardware limps back felt 10 years behind the latest technology. That could even my old Magellan better 15 years ago. An additional application for the specific GPS location you can then recognize that of 12 channels while (for example) are occupied 8, but with ridiculous field strengths. And at my Tom Tom just needs to 20s a really good position for the complete cold start. In the car, mind you. Conclusion: If you appreciate GPS, is definitely wrong when Wave or frustrated.

2) The MP3 Players- also having a laugh. Sonically neutral and free of noise. But with such a powerful hardware I expect just a graphical, fully adjustable equalizer. Or even better, a parametric equalizer. Both missing to accommodate different headphones. I'm talking now of headphones, and not the expedients, the Samsung as plugged into the bag. The worst: between the individual titles, there is a vocal pops. Quiet, but annoying. What pray tell is that?
Conclusion: For sophisticated listening to music not suitable or you will be frustrated. For GPS and MP3 is the one star in the rating withdrawn (my opinion).

3) gravel. Felt 10 questions my firewall if different foreign applications would get network access make already suspicious. Sure, the software is useless facilities crammed and completely overloaded. After about 2 hours installation and decompression routines to access the phone.
Conclusion: you can save if the firmware on the device are going well. There were already plenty of reviews, where it was not so. All other functions KIES- for me were of no value because I load the applications directly via UMTS to the device.

4) reception. Here one must be satisfied with below-average performance. My old W880 offered here better reception: In closed external blinds in the office or in the garage, the Wave is dead With the old telephone there were no problems.. Another star deduction in the review!

What remains? A well-to-use phone that otherwise is so much fun that you like to see across about the error. At least according to the aforementioned three days.

Small supplement:
After a few more clicks through the settings and submenus I noticed überrschenderweise on a great privilege, which is not mentioned in the technical documentation.
The Wave offers namely similar to the Galaxy on wireless tethering. Had the Galaxy drawn precisely for this reason into consideration, there is highlighted this feature. Once the Galaxy had in his hand, the purchase immediately discarded. Much too large, rather resorted no tethering and Wave. Well as I said, the surprise: The Wave offers too! For three participants can therefore serve as the Wave hotspot. Super!
