Culcha Candela have laid their first two albums "Union Verdadera" and "Next Generation" two world-class productions. The album "Culcha Candela" went tremendously towards mainstream, which is to say that even here some good, though getting used to the songs were to be found. The new album "Brave New World" splits tempers. The style of the guys has changed again slightly compared to its predecessor. There are quite a few very good songs to be found on the disk, reminiscent more of the old-style Culcha. On the other hand, there are also those songs that are just plain boring and commerce yawn. Let's go with the eponymous title track "Brave New World". Initially sounds like a mainstream, really successful feel-good song turns out later than however. "Monsta" is going strong towards dancehall mainstream, can listen in spite of everything but good. "Siento" is not a particularly notable track, he obdenn not bad. In my opinion, after "Gimme Some" one of the highlights of the album. The song grooving easy and fun. With "Sometimes," then comes a rather shallow song, not necessarily worth listening to. "No hay mal" though is not necessarily in his ear, but is acceptable. "The greates" is again very commercial and you can hear that. No masterpiece. "I Like It" remembers then most likely the old Culcha style. A great song. The low point of the album is "ice cold" is that just annoying, and in which people like to "continue" suppressed. "Nobody" is all right, something 'lame' and not very innovative. With "Get up", there is then still a successful track for world peace. Absolutely not understand it, that the track "Viva La Vida" is included only on the bonus Edotion is. Ironically, the song that is most reminiscent Culcha Candela and then is so good; would have been earlier namesake of the album and also first single, there is now only available as a bonus !?
It is hoped that Culcha Candela will turn back to the future with more seriousness of the music, and that they find back to its roots.
