LED lamps fit easily into the G9 sockets. They give a somewhat whiter light than the halogen lamp, but I did not feel as disturbing. They can be dimmed, and correspond to the brightness of the 40W halogen lamps used until now. However, they are a lot bigger with 6 cm in length and look out my glass shades out something, therefore only 4 points.
Addendum: Now have all 5 lamps in the lamp replaced by LED. Now the LED bulbs buzz but very disturbing. As long as there is a halogen lamp while, the sound is not heard. Therefore, only 2 stars
