Very positive I was surprised by the high quality finish of the camera. Metal case (and in our plastic-era!), Precisely to-use switches, very quiet zoom motor, metal thread for tripod mount and a zoom lens with a barely perceptible game (no rattle-Zoom) are just a few features that are very Camera can appear solid.
Even more important is the outstanding figure line of the lens: sharply drawing, no color fringing in telephoto range, hardly distortion even in the super wide angle (as I was (unfortunately) used by the PowerShot something else). No wonder when you know that the Lumix lens consists of 10 elements. It is clear to me that the cooperation of Panasonic and Leica is at this point a godsend for Lumix.
The optical viewfinder as the PowerShot I have not been missing in the Lumix because the display is even in the glaring sun on the beach still so bright that can be easily kadrieren the subject. Another positive aspect is the long battery capacity (approximately 250 images at approximately 20% flash use), so that I have not purchase a second battery.
For creative photography, however I miss the variety of settings a PowerShot. Although z. B. can also here the aperture manually select the aperture range but with only max. 3.5 levels very nearly failed (1: 3.3 to 6.3). The flash output can not be manually reduce z. B. for macro shots. If you shoot primarily in automatic mode, will remember nothing of these disadvantages, however. But for me, this means a deduction of points.
Despite my four star rating, I can only recommend the camera, because the benefits outweigh the camera's small drawbacks by far. And I'm pretty sure that you will find in this price range when the camera smaller (or larger) "shortcomings" ...
