Lustig is the TV card life '..

Was already quite accustomed. Even my previous USB TV stick from Hauppauge was to bring only afterwards no longer reconstructable turns to run, but then it did years of reliable service.
When I had now boosted my old NB (Tosh A100 with Napa chipset, Vista HP 32) with a low ersteigertem T7600-Prozzi on a thoroughly contemporary speed level, the stick did not want partout. God knows what that has to do with a processor upgrade.

So forth with what new things - but please do not expensive, wants only the Rumcomputern from and television at something on the side.

According to proper installation - as stated under VISTA - ran only times nix.
Even under XP Kompatilitätsmodus overthrew the TotalMedia 3.5 - Software from when attempting to start a channel scan, without any further information.

Well, the included drivers are from 2007 (although it says on the DVD 2010), so the LogiLink page -> aha - a driver of 2009.
Driver ausgetauscht- still nix.

Although it always is, to let Windows search for drivers, you might forget suddenly presented me Vista after two minutes looking for a driver of 2010.

For some stupid idea out I realized then the compatibility mode for Windows 2000, and - voila - it was!
Maybe it would have already worked with it - but I'm at least for latest drivers (apparently directly from Realtek) come.

Also, do not shut down .. strange .. in this 2000 Aero mode

Positives:

Quality vs. tuner. my old stick much better.
A total of 38 channels found, even though I'm sitting pretty deep in the valley. (Merely the included 20cm - rod antenna placed outside the window)
Of these 3 stations twice (derived from a 15 km from the "gap-fillers", channel editing makes it easy to select the stronger), 3 encrypted, 16 German and 16 French (which emit from Forbach, Lorraine, at least 35 km away)

-Bildqualität Fully ok.

-deutlich better than my previous Stick:
When activated by hardware acceleration on average only 4% processor load by TV, a maximum of 8%. GPU temperature (Nvidia 7600 Go) settles at just 60 degrees (45 degrees CPU) that NB fan remains at its lowest setting.

This loss of speed of parallel software are subjectively not noticeable (SuperPi 1M needs eg 23 instead of 21 seconds ReadyBoost-based cold start of Visual C # Express with WPF project 24 instead of 23 seconds).
(Can be calculated on two Windows calculators parallel Faculty of 100,000) in total CPU full load any audio clicks or video stuttering: reversed any impairment.
(Only with software kernel monitoring (for example Sysinternals Process Explorer) may cause interference)

- Total consumption in my NB with full-screen TV and power plan acceptable 33 W (vs. Idle 23 W, respectively inlusive PSU), so he is likely to loose persevere "in the wild" with my 12-cell battery a football evening.

-What did not go with WinTV: started program "survives" Hibernation. Live TV only needs to be reactivated (best press station list and there ok)

negative (at least for me):

Software is not designed in some respects so on multi-monitor mode:
Boot screen always starts on the primary monitor and can not pull over before you have clicked on TV for example.
- The "Only-TV window" better pull for size changes on the primary monitor and then back again.
- So play records on the secondary monitor with no image there with other software.
- "Only TV window" does not realize his size when was switched in the meantime in extended operating mode.

further:
- When switching to teletext mode and back is always 2-3 seconds "intermission"
- The software say reserved and write 300MB RAM commit.
- The supplied in the remote control button cell was already floored (CR 2025)

A few Tipps:
Remote Control:
- From the fullscreen mode on the on / off button in the operating mode
- Where the on / off button will shut down the entire software. (To take then ...)
- The upper arrow keys you can then navigate to eg teletext and via
Activate Enter.
- It can only select the color key that you had clicked the mouse as a last resort.
So you should have there clicked the green rectangle times,
then you can at least numerically enter a home and move forward by pressing Enter.
- Ensure always pretty sight contact between FB and top of the sticks, then 6 m distance is not a problem

Make TV recordings best on USB stick / SD card, otherwise the ReadyBoost cache is trashed and may be overwritten "valuable" cache contents unnecessarily.

Conclusion:
Somewhat mixed, but it runs - and the price ...
And if it passes in the end, make Windows installation adventure then somehow fun.
