I, Robot (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Only 15 days had Marco Beltrami time to add sound to the new film by Alex Proyas, and not less than 11 orchestrator could assist him in his work. That the result is at the end become a great and extremely effective especially in the film score, Beltrami is due to good instincts, strong themes and a very personal style, which itself knows how to argue with such an armada of accomplices.
Based on a flexible and memorable main theme - for the first time to hear in section 3, "I, Robot Theme (End Credits)" - the score-CD unfolds on abwechsungsreiche way through to the final complex in "Round Up".
Listening between there are both Beltrami usual rhythmic vetrackte Action Music ("Tunnel Chase", "Need Some Nanites" among others) as well as atmospheric mysterious ("Sonny's Interrogation") and empathetic dramatic moments ("Spooner Spills" and especially "Dead Walking Robot ").
Funny that Beltrami after TERMINATOR 3: has again to do RISE OF THE MACHINES with a riot of machines. All the better, however, is that despite the short time enough composition has been inspired to leave his new music and other sound independently. In addition to the occupation for large orchestra and choir, especially the sporadic use of an electric violin music lends a personal touch. In direct comparison to last Beltrami work HELLBOY is I, ROBOT Although issues related not quite as varied and imaginative fancy, but for fans definitely a worthwhile CD. It is advisable, however, to have previously seen the film in order to pay tribute to the music properly.
