The Sony HX100V is to provide fully capable of excellent macro photos.
One must note a few things.
1. There is no SCN program "macro" (small flower)
2. What the Macro mode comes closest is SCN "Gourmet"
3. Even better all the settings is of course to make manually.
4. Program mode "P"
5. "NO" to low
6. "contours" on +
7. "Contrast" on +
8. "Saturation" on STD
9. Color mode "R"
10. Metering Mode "middle"
11. ND "Auto"
12. Still Image Size 4: 3 and 10M (compared to 16M less noise)
With these settings, good macro shots succeed.
The best quality recordings succeed when the zoom is not quite the WW but at about 1.5 to 2.0.
You can take the Sony really very close to the object. (Until 2cm I would appreciate)
Disadvantage: A mostly clear shadow of the lens.
Lightning does not help because this the "shadows" intensified.
Only an effective means of external illumination or receiving position so the change of the lens shade is not visible.
With a little experimentation, the HX100V is quite "shoot" able impressive macros.
For me, this camera is the "Egg-laying wool milk sow"
All the amateur photographer needs can this camera.
