As you can see I am quite inclined to Sony products and is a reason; Quality!
Unfortunately disappointed me here is my new Sony SLT-A37K right at the beginning, because the supplied kit lens (SAL 18-55) is definitely deficient!
I do not believe that this is so in principle but I was truly the "good fortune".
Namely, the picture quality is at 55er focal length "blurred" or very blurred absolutely unacceptable.
At 18mm focal length, the image quality is perfect, I'm assuming that the lens group is somehow "out of alignment".
Well.
Since I am a good "Always top" wanted telephoto lens anyway, I've tried a few lenses and me ultimately for the SIGMA 18-125mm 3,8-5,6 DC HSM decided.
This decision I have not regretted!
The image quality with the SIGMA is sensational, a perfect image sharpness over the entire zoom range.
This maybe as a recommendation, if someone is looking for a really good and reasonably priced Always top-telephoto lens.
But now to the camera.
I do not want all the functions described (which you can read about elsewhere) but for me the essence here.
The operation of the camera is very simple and clear.
Here, even beginners will find their way well.
The folding camera display has a good image quality but I find it a DSLR a bit too small.
As a "forty-something" I have here (with the usual age farsightedness) so my problems without reading glasses
For the electronic viewfinder is very good.
I tend to use this for viewing images and settings in the camera menu.
To take a picture anyway.
A bit annoying here is only the relatively common "flickering" of the viewfinder.
The "Auto Portrait frame" I find it very successful function.
If the Face Detection is activated, the camera automatically detects a suitable image and then created according to the "two-thirds rule" an additional portrait.
A great feature.
But now the most important thing; the image quality.
This is when the lens is correct, outstanding!
Things were actually hardly be.
Absolutely outstanding is the noise performance.
Until ISO 800 not an issue, even succeed with ISO 1600 incredibly low noise photos.
Also the detail sharpness hardly suffers higher ISO values.
I am always surprised when I look at photos of my 27-inch monitor and then to the ISO values look into the properties.
Unbelievable.
Still worth mentioning.
The reaction time of the SLT-A37 is really fast.
The built-in flash has a very high efficiency.
The Full HD video mode is also very good in sound and vision - absolutely useful.
A little less well, I find that the image stabilizer is in the SLT-A37 housing.
Thus, the viewfinder image is always restless than when the image stabilizer is in the lens.
That makes now in the 18-55er kit lens less noticeable but at a telephoto lens already clear.
Anyone who has seen the difference already, who knows what I mean.
Even doubling the focal length is really just a nice gimmick.
The focal length is hereby not really doubles but only visually as shown (digital zoom).
Really fault I have at the SLT-A37K but nothing.
Conclusion:
For me, the Sony SLT-A37K is an excellent entry-level DSLR.
The image quality is (I repeat myself) with the right lens hard to beat.
Based on my experience with the poor kit lens I can but only awarded 4 stars.
