To date, this is my favorite book. Although it has something a little outdated, it makes it only more endearing; to my mind, surpasses (by far) the Scourge, yet more acclaimed by the fans of King. To summarize, this is a book about childhood ... and monsters. This is an amount so rich, so complex, interconnected stories (related to "Ca", one might say) that it is impossible to say a few words without betraying the work.
Let's start with the qualities evoke. First, incredible realism of characters and fascinants- into the secondary characters as Tom Rogan, Victor Criss and others. All seem REALLY exister- and this is not the kind of easy and resuce comment I get you there, but the simple truth. Then the King's storytelling talent has never been exploité- even if the author is still filling; obliged on 1500 pages. But the author's professionalism is intact throughout the book. No "botched".
Then the protean and terrifying entity known Ca is a monster that somehow sums up all the monsters of all horror films, as embodied YOUR fear. King seems to have assimilated all the comics and horror films he watched to bring together in this book, as when a man knows about it, it makes for a virtuoso summit. At the lowest level of reading, "It" is a gigantic formide horror story. But "it" transcends the kind of course, talking about love, friendship ... and fear, naturally.
Awesome and unique.
