A true document demonstrating why Slade was considered one of the best scene of English groups. Especially since it offers us squarely 3 lives of the group, with a bonus their performance at the Reading Festival 80 '. The remastered sound is huge, to the point that alone justifies the purchase, even if it already has all the relevant records. It makes service phenomenal bass playing Jim Lea, who through his volubility and its presence sometimes seems to play "lead" (much like John Entwistle, J. Bruce, but especially Pappalardi). It is the backbone of his Slade. The voice hoarse and wild Noddy Holder, at the breaking point (a Little Richards unleashed), often copied never equaled (K.DuBrown Quiet Riot-for the most obvious), there also is benefiting. - The first live (1972), the best, which at the time exploded in the face of the music world with its savagery and its burst of energy (58 weeks in the charts!). A registered organic and spontaneous live at home in a small room. A dirty heavy rock'n'roll which seems to have announced the Australian scene with rough guitars and hoarse voice very hard-rock'n'roll (Bon Scott, Jimmy Barnes, Anderson). Holder yells "claps yours hands & feet stomp yours!", The audience follows illico, which gives the impression of an earthquake punctuated; the group is transcended and fires! - The 2nd, 1978 has a typical sound "Great scene" or "Arena" to US own lives the same year. The atmosphere is still there, but it's channeled. The public, though very present, is less close and you lose the atmosphere of the previous unleashed. A best-of-Live where the greatest hits spend there. - The 3rd, 1982 is a compressor rolls striker input, without warning, by a "rock'n'roll preacher" genuine profession of faith. Rhythmic are faster and aggressive, and really stronger overall sound. The ears bleed. Back to savagery. - The 4th has its historical importance: they replaced Ozzy at short notice at the request of the latter, at the Reading Festival in 1980. While no one waiting for them, we are in the NWOBHM in less than 20 minutes. Slade puts the record straight by showing what must give a rock band on stage! This memorable performance will boost their careers for ten years! If some prefer Alive II or SOS, it is undeniable that we have a CD & MUST MUST for all amateur rock musical culture at large.
