"The Hunting Party" is a very good film of survival and courage. Inspired by a true story, it gives rise to many spectacular action scenes. The fight scenes, the Apocalypse of scenery and the oppressive atmosphere, are beautifully restored. The ruined town of Hac was even built from scratch for the needs of the film.
The scenes are very well filmed, some as a continuation of the F-18 by a missile are breathtaking, while the use of slow motion gives some passages incredible intensity.
The characters are beautifully interpreted. Owen Wilson, more accustomed to big comedy, as well is very convincing in the role of undisciplined soldier than in the hunted man, and Gene Hackman beautiful charismatic top ranking. Not to mention Joaquim De Almeida supreme admiral and outstanding Russian actor Vladimir Mashkov ("The quickie", "New Russian" ...) in which the role of ruthless tracker fits like a glove.
A very good film, in which one can deplore just a little clumsy patriotism and end nanarde limit.
