Although I'm such Tribute- or cover stories not averse in principle, me this album is not really convincing. As a longtime DM fan I find it indeed as a sign of (any time legitimate) appreciation of this band over when their songs are gecovert repeatedly. However, there are also differences, if a song is good and original or imaginative and carelessly interpreted. Here the upper hand for my taste clearly the latter. A successful cover version is for example "Personal Jesus" by Johnny Cash, who manages with relatively simple means, the song his own stamp impose without even spoil it for me. The Alfa-Matric compilation, however, has nothing of the sort, but exhausted in the inferiority of the rather boring recited vocals with "cool" or "fat" Beats that make by listening to the two CD's in one piece in an overall fairly boring affair. For hardcore fans who always gather everything that has to do with DM, like this might be essential for fans of the music of Depeche Mode, it is anything but a MUST!
