Everything points that can be read but in other reports or in the product description :-)
What bothers me (why only 3 points) are the following:
* The reception strength regardless of signals - GSM signal, GPS signal, WiFi, Bluetooth: generally to classes worse than reference devices like the Nokia 6110 Navigator my brother's (or my laptop or my old Nokia 6131). I suspect it is the metal housing that cuts in addition to the noble appearance just the reception power
* The Navi Software: on the one hand it is only free for 90 days, then the routing (not just speech) is chargeable. On the other hand, the operability compared to TomTom v6 is just tedious and slow. There is the weak GPS receiver to navigate so do with it no pleasure and can be viewed only as a last resort, the Hauptnavi fails times.
Example: there is the possibility of distance measurement (menu GPS data, distance). Here also the current speed is output. This varies with me (BMW 525d, E39) lt at speeds speedometer ZW 180 -.. 200km / h on the display then ZW 155 and 255km / h -. Unwatchable.
* Little things to use:
- Why can not I in addition to the general special characters such as *, +, etc. not insert smileys finished more like the Nokia 6131?
- Why is while sending SMS is no longer a list of recent recipients appears like the Nokia 6131 (and I have to again each time looking through the contacts list)?
- The headset: why has the button on the headset when listening to MP3s no longer function? The Nokia 6131, for example, I was able to choose the next track here, now I have to take out the mobile phone, slider at, next track, Slider to phone back in the bag.
* Of battery:
I do not have a lot of demands on the battery life and understand that many features need a lot of power - but more than 1 day should the battery but keep, right?
Examples of my usage patterns:
- During the week (office life) consisting of podcast Tagesschau in SBahn, MP3s while driving home, under the day a little checking email via Wi-Fi, some phone calls and SMS messages: 1.5 days - 2 days is final
- During the weekend: email, surf the Internet, something calls via VoIP: after 8h was concluded that battery charged at 15h to 23h of the same day was layer ... (!)
My Resume: a cool phone that can actually everything but nothing really perfect. Too bad, because the E66 had the look and feel of the makings of a bestseller ...

Supplement 07.11.2008
The reason for the miserable GPS receiver is located in the incorrect positioning server. It should read: "supl.nokia.com". When he entered, then works GPS so much better (eg the satellite fix is reduced from 10 minutes to 5sec)

Supplement 09.12.2008
With the new firmware a few of my criticisms seem not solved, but to have been at least mitigated.
The GSM reception has improved.
The battery life has improved. In addition, I recommend everyone the free Nokia Energy Manager, (such as fring) can be found with the creeping energy hogs that run along permanent easy.
While the wireless receiver is not better, but there is the HandyWI tool displays the available wireless networks and their signal strength can be displayed (and also public hotspots).
The phone itself is still as good as new as the first day.
Overall, I would increase the rating to **** and a half.
