I bought the Navi directly at Pearl. (Free shipping) Previously a Navigon showed me the way 72 Premium. By comparison, the NavGear N6 is significantly worse in many ways. 1. GPS signal The N6 need up to 5 minutes until it receives a GPS signal. Then the reception is unstable, so that it often loses the signal and you end up in "flying blind". 2. Processor Performance The processor is apparently overwhelmed by the extensive software. Entries will only be accepted very slowly. One must wait a long time between the individual letters or numbers when entering a destination. 3. Capacitive Display. The display reacts (compared with Navigon) extremely slow. 4. Route calculation and selection The route calculation takes a comparatively long. The proposed routes are varied and can be extended repeatedly if desired, is not there in the optimal route. 5. POI The Navi is advertised with a large number of POIs. Where I live the N6 falls outside stations of anything. (My Navigon knew several 100 POIs in my area) 6. On-board computer The onboard computer will become sluggish, the displayed values often differ from reality (is related to the poor GPS reception together) 7. Route Guidance Route guidance is acceptable. Positive note is the indication of the direction for the next turn in the journey. Otherwise, the display depends on the display behind the reality. 8. announcements The vocal range is diverse, the votes shall be human nature. Unfortunately, the internal speaker is so inferior that the voices are output distorted. 9. Power LED The LED is red and very bright. It appears extremely dark. 10. Display Quality Without sunlight the display is ok. Once it gets brighter the display is hard to recognize. There is also no use the backlight to 100% regulated. 11. Connections Power supply and TMC antenna are separated, so two connections are required. The sleeves of this are on the left side, so that the field of view is also restricted by the cable. Other manufacturers have the antenna in the charging cable and the connector for the bottom of the Navi. Hence the connection concept is no longer appropriate.
Overall, the N6 has serious weaknesses. For the asking price, it provides little value. NavGear should increase the overall quality significantly, so that the device is at all competitive.
