First impression: The conscience triumphs ...

Since 240 days Mark Brandis awaits now up a small team in a space cruiser to watch the possible supernova of a star. But shortly before the end of the long contract reached him a call for help from a ship of the republics. Only in Brandis hesitant, but when he hears that a child should be on board, he decided to disobey his orders and to come to the rescue ...

By Mark Brandis, the radio play world knew them especially the two-parter, who tells with correspondingly long duration often a complex story. Without loss of intensity or power of expression comes as Triton Passage somewhat surprising runs this episode yet only 79 minutes. As is so often the radio play starts in the middle of a new order of Brandis, but here the poisoned atmosphere between him and Commander Busch is directly savored. And the further course is characterized by strong and very different atmospheres and scenes, for example, the search in the unknown spaceship for survivors and a dramatic race against time, as the air is very scarce. And that's exactly what this episode so strong, so can particularly be: that in almost 80 minutes so strong scenes are combined with a lot of expression, the individual elements not miss out even more protracted. And the difficult political situation and the power struggles within the VEGA are reintegrated what extra kick gives and ensures at the end for a big surprise. A very well told, exciting and varied Mark Brandis series, which I guess just because of their brevity.

Again, the choice of spokesperson is admirably succeeded. As Commander Elmar bush can be heard Roman Kretschmer, whose distinctive voice always resonates the displeasure with Brandis and so represents an interesting counterpoint to the more level-headed protagonist. Anastasia Conze says the young and dynamic Catalina Minulescu and can by their precise play convey an accurate picture of the woman. We really liked Bettina Zech as Tuva Eidsvog that acts as mysteriously as sympathetic as vulnerable to me. Other speakers include Gerhart Hinze, Urs Remond and Stefan Peters.

The acoustic implementation is again very successful, the different scenes and moods were implemented with great care and have gotten so each tailored an individual dress that fits perfectly. Quite wonderful a scene is quite far succeeded towards the end, make music together in the Mark Brandis and Tuva Eidsvog and later orchestral accompaniment get very intense and emotional implemented!

The cover shows again a space scene in supercooled blues and grays, but instead of a flying spaceship can be seen here a huge satellite dish on a lonely planet. Pretty and again produced very detailed. Inside additional information is again to find from the world of Mark Brandis, for example, about the Neptune and other concise terms that will be explained shortly.

Conclusion: Quite different moods that are presented here and very well savored, nestled in an exciting and very entertaining story. A very successful result!
