The marzipan bread is 48 percent, at least almost half, from almonds. So it should be. It's just not a simple marzipan, which consists mostly of sugar, but fine marzipan that contains many fine almonds. The "black bread" is actually coated with dark chocolate. It is a very traditional form of marzipan, which I like to buy especially during the festive season. You must on every Christmas plates and tastes not only adults but also children.
Apart from the good ingredients and the beautiful packaging I find in this Niederegger Marzipan black bread tastes best. The marzipan is nice and soft and has an intense almond flavor that is complemented harmoniously by the chocolate coating. It has an ideal consistency and melts literally on the tongue. The subtle almond flavor provides real palate pleasure and is no comparison to the many cheap marzipans that are flooding the supermarkets during the festive season.
Since the Marzipanbrot of Niederegger really good tastes of almonds, I'm willing to spend more money for this candy. I would recommend this product highly, as it is of high quality.
