In an interview from 2007 Bob Dylan said: "Im in awe of McCartney Hes about The Only One That I am in awe of He can do it all And hes never let up ... Hes just so damn effortless...." ("I am in awe of McCartney. He's pretty much the only one before whom I am in awe. He can do anything. And he has never waned ... He finds it just so damn easy.") Most musicians of a certain age (around the 40 most), if they do not sit down in retirement, can only be repeated, as their musical dwarf world has just exhausted. McCartney cited occasionally - in surprising contexts - but above all he shakes over and over again completely new out of his sleeve, damn effortless as Dylan - itself one of the few ever creatives (the two should plunge into a joint album ...) - it said. I am after two listening to the album is still far from having internalized the songs. But two things struck me clearly: The album seems strangely all of a piece - in spite of the different styles and four different producers. And it is a real journey of discovery, to which one goes if one gets involved with the music. It happens a whole lot of songs in the background. Just like on the boards of The Beatles - just different ... One criterion for really good music for me, when it awakens subtle emotions in intense listening - and can this music. McCartney's voice is still beautiful to my ears, even though it has changed over the years. Even if they (intentionally) sounds brittle such. B. in Early Days. Whether "New" with "Chaos and Creation" (for me his previous solo masterpiece) can measure, I can not say yet. Most likely the CD reminds me - despite all differences - to "Flaming Pie". May the mysterious source of creativity, drawing from the McCartney, never run dry!
