For my sense of hearing to a ASR Emitter and Dynaudio Contour, powered by a normal ACER Lapptop,
plays the Explorer already not bad. If one compares it with much more expensive CD players,
drops to which he is tonal on the right side though, but in the points stability and inner peace
has a little disadvantage. For his money but already really good.
There were 2 versions: The original version, with higher output impedance, and the current smaller. The first may have loss of sound in certain chains. Which version you have, is not externally apparent.
Now the tuning:
If you operate it via an external power supply, which divides the 5V from the PC and re-fed (via a USB adapter)
disappear his weaknesses. A stable location with control and airy fine drawing sets in.
The bass is again controlled, and everything works wonderfully calm and balanced.
I had tested on the one hand, the power supply of AQVOX, and the other a self-built.
Please keep in mind that my review is aimed at people who want to operate the converter at higher quality systems.
The differences are now not so serious that they on a 300, - would notice Teufelset or PC boxes of plastic.
