'Dissolution' is a small feat. I read it in English (I do not know if it's translated - if not, too bad) and it's so well written that it is a treat. Apart from being a detective novel - no cheating; if you follow the signs you reach the end of the track - it's a real history book of the era of Henry VIII. You learn a lot about the dissolution of the monasteries (hence the title), lots of fun and at the end there is the joy of knowing that there are still three in the series. The 'detective', not Thomas Cromwell sent terrifying to solve the mystery of a murder, is an establishment in the great tradition of British detectives - that is to say, memorable.
