Ausgeträumt (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The message was a big hit: Minne Graw, the long stage abstinent voice of Ougenweide published old solo recordings!
Well, it may sound paradoxical, but my non-existent expectations "Ausgeträumt" have been fully met. And I think that's the best way to approach this album.

The first four songs are in quite different timbre, thematically closely related, they act but all of whims and moods, personal reflections, yearnings and experiences - ultimately a continuation of what you on the penultimate Ougenweide album "Yes-market" had begun the Graw song "mood". So engaging may be musically these songs - "Live your dreams" about a touchingly simple yet beautiful composition that suffers, unfortunately, a little under a strangely powerless Arrangement and the chorus will not quite match the beguiling stanzas -: ultimately it is to Diary settings of somewhere between harmless and inconsequential, between demanding and awkward, with the sinnierende theme song always goes closer than the "and-then" babbling -mäßig opener "boredom".
As a fun number at which the spirits are naturally divorce is quite obvious "vacation" thought, which anticipates the hectic cabaret pop basically the early Rosenstolz should invent (in a aufgesexten variant course) until several years later.

The most interesting stand in the repeated listening the songs out, go into your ear immediately, and these are the last three songs: the enigmatic "afraid" that (again in a slightly rosenstolzigen sound written) one-night stand-Impression "spat" and as the finale just beautiful Night Owl anthem "The Night". All three songs leave the first half of the album only sound quite according diary poetry, and in this direction, one suspects, would have to be quite a bit with a solo career for Minne Graw. Well, it was not to be.

Worried by the ancient Ougenweide-mate Frank and Stefan Wulff production is timeless like within the meaning of from the time - contemporary sounded 25 years ago just as today, and even if Minne had then found a label, these recordings would certainly never in this form has been published.
Basically These are all - admittedly by produced - Demo versions (I think, as such, they were also thought at the time), and if for this release only the last two songs were so attributions, so this is probably lie mainly in their sound quality, but the drops significantly compared to the rest.

In the booklet Minne himself writes a few sympathetic, personal words to the making of the album. Too bad that the lyrics were not printed. There is a recent photograph of no less than half of Classic Ougenweide occupation ... The CD comes in a digipak, featuring its all succeeded in everything, is better than it would suggest the Cover oddly cheap-looking.

Even if the album all in all leaves a rather mixed impression - Minne Graw applies heartfelt thanks for having made available to us this but very personal photographs, and long after such time.
Should interest the whole probably only passionate Ougenweide fans. For this, however, the small collection of songs is an absolute must.
