Well ... new album Neuse luck, I thought, hoping that after being too enormous outcry of fans would now return a Werl age group.
However, after the first hearing, I was completely killed .... but it should go on with this medieval-pop hit-fuss ......... I have long wondered whether I'll get to the album, but my heart depends on the fauns and so I held yesterday the Deluxe Edition of "Luna" in his hand.
After several listens I have to revise me now. It may not be on an album, such as "Eden" or "renaissance" rankommen, but I see a lot of the old faunas in this album. Gaffe as "colorful folk", which reminds us of the terrible Santiano duet (without that I want to say something against Micha Rhein .... But In Extremo's just not mine) are for me only slightly by the songs of Fiona saved. Every now and then the fade smack of pop hangs something .... which is certainly responsible for the almost entirely German lyrics.
Man, it was just used to having alternated on every album different languages and have been linked with instrumentals to grand total works. But by the phraseology, the Faune you quickly realize that this is definitely not here to hit.
But ..... I have the CD now belongs determines the whole day in an endless loop and have to say .... the doubts were unfounded. Under no circumstances is this a comparative piece on "From the Elves".
Highlights for me are first and foremost "Blue Hour" .... incredibly great song full of longing and with a new voice .... Stephan fits perfectly on the subject and converts it accordingly.
"Cuncti Simus" is a small piece of gold, which Sonja of Stellamara converts enchanting in her of singing for me as an amateur singer. Beautifully carved and interpreted.
In "Minuet" calmer tones are played, in my opinion, have been somewhat sparse otherwise than in previous albums. I think that's not necessarily a bad thing ... I liked Niel's rhythm always happy and find it not bad sometimes this page to get to know ... even if specially the drum of Corvus Corax had to be hired for.
Minuet is therefore rather which keep attachments and not to dance, but very beautiful in the implementation.
Just as "Andro II" a beautiful renovation was in "Out of the same", "wind and violin" has been transformed uncanny toll .... Oh, Fiona and the flutes, which say sollich. I was very reminiscent of the album "Totem".
And although I for some reason actually have certain reservations Katja Moslehner, I find "woman earth" and "Era Escuro" very nice. They are mystical and afflicted by what Medieval music really was not ..... bagpipes and shawm-droning, but interpretation of church songs and the famous minstrelsy. However, with the aftertaste that ausgrechnet these two songs extremely reminds me of the kind of Elisabeth Pawelke when she was still with Faun and her solo work Almara. Perhaps the appearance of Katja Moslehner with Faun and the release of "Out of the same" simply too close together, which makes it difficult to cost her. However, there is no denying that it has the least special vote for me, which bring out especially Fiona and Oliver.
It so happens that songs that are less Fauntypisch and go into modern Middle Ages pop direction and are sung by Katja simply make the pop touch and I find that very unfortunate.
Conclusion: Whether old fan or new listeners who have come through television advertising and the last album to Faun ... you will come at your expense.
Of course it is not as phenomenal as the old stuff from the times when the Faune weekend for Wochenede are getingelt from one market to another and have played times a day in pagan village 4 over four days and from early to ten to to bring the day rum. These times were great!
But this can be proud of and I personally like each time better. Compromises you have to make (colorful folk, The Wild Hunt and the songs will remain ..... in my opinion) and some songs not really tear me with, but are also not totally awful and fit into the whole oeuvre. There are definite highlights and a touch of old Fauntage ...... to a class implementation of the subject in terms of lyrics and musical interpretation. In some places, perhaps something very dudelig, well. On the basis of the masses and what they mean by the Middle Ages, because it would take too long to explain them what Pagan-folk is , Produce however very typical flute sounds of Fiona and very common Faunpassagen, as we know from the past, the small joy hop with me
Nevertheless, I .... am very happy that I decided to purchase and will have a lot of fun singing along and listen. Therefore a buy recommendation for old fans, who turned away ..... the auditions really put some no Likens Original is ...
