Chilled is a S1155 i5 2400 ASRock Z68 Pro3 on.
About the cooling performance I have to waste any words. The first class is at the monsters of Scythe for a long time. The fan turns again wonderfully round and is held on the automatic fan control of the board at the lowest level, or with target 45 ° C (lower is not) - so far silent, wiedermal.
What is designed here is simply top notch!
One star deduction comes about because of the installation:
I should have by now built up more than 10 different combinations, never pleased me so hard with the same cooler / socket combo, but is rarely nen clean installation.
On coolers, pedestal Specifically, holders screwed, which is no problem. For better stability, a metal plate is placed on the board backside, which is padded with foam to board page. Is held the cooler by 4x must be screwed by the Board back. And since the problem comes into play. This plate for the back of each has 3 positions for the screw in which the appropriate (Board specific) must be relatively blind met.
Here, the board must be accessible from both sides, of course, should be stable, then ranzudrücken from one side of the radiator, to bring possible without air holes in the conductive paste (ie no contact / no contact / back contact), from the other side, the metal plate push ahead without them falling down and at the same time purely turn the screws.
To me it is not managed, the whole without contact and then loosen the radiator and conductive paste to accomplish. This is therefore the first cooler that I possess, in which I explicitly recommend to have another pair of hands. The installation is to loose 50% speed and cause less nervous. ;)
For installation I have seen in any case already more intelligent solutions, because there is at Scythe at all class in other areas still enormous pent-up demand.
