More impressions that I have gained by playing through:
- The controls are very getting used to. Where you could reflect in Anniversary X and Y axes at right stick yet, only the standard version is preset. But got used to it after about 1 hour and it went quite well.
- The control is indirect and imprecise. One has the feeling that everything is done with a certain delay. Actually not significantly, but with the predecessors (except AOD) it was better! Even if you depend on a boss you have to sometimes several times in a direction directing to the Game it has correctly interpreted and Lara moves. That was sometimes much more intuitive.
- The Graphic. For large scenarios it jerky without end. Among the gameplay suffers noticeably. Incomprehensible as with the predecessors of Legend and Anniversary large environments running without any lag and were still to look very nice. It seems to me, as some have said that the game is designed specifically for next-gen consoles, and has only been slimmed down for Wii and PS2 without large to ensure good compatibility.
Nevertheless, I find the graphics and the scenery in the game and outstanding atmosphere.
- The gameplay. Run only by landscapes, ride a motorcycle, climbing into caves and dive. From time to time an opponent, but only later in the game. The Kraken at the beginning is also more decoration than danger, unless you touch it and succumbs to his poison. One waits for the entire game that it crashes right at once and all hell breaks loose, as it is very long and the music alone can increase the tension. But nothing. There is virtually no puzzle. Secrets and levers are quasi middle of the road, which one runs quite linear. Large shocks, such as Thailand (which are designed with great attention to detail) rushing past you, because it's so easy to find the right way. You have not even looking for ammunition and weapons. Man has always 2 weapons with infinite Muni and fires it while holding down the R1 button continuously from (I found it at Anniversary better to actuate individually for each shot R1, since the fights do not have a lot of fun).
And at some point, without ever really come under pressure, the game ends and you wonder what you have actually done to run out by landscapes and to have collected a few pieces in the end. The abgeknallten opponents you can also count on almost 2 hands. No great victory. Too Bad.
Have then immediately Anniversary inserted that yes based on the legendary 1st part and rediscovered what has me so far tied at TR: to master many good fights and puzzles that you tried doggedly. These top graphics and the best control that can have such a game.
I would give this game 3 stars because it is considered good and very beautiful in itself, but it is not far from being comparable to far Legend or Anniversary and also differs from the actual gameplay and has to deal with various technical defects.
