Good day at the screens out there! The E440 L4 II by LG is not my first mobile phone, which may be called "smart" because of the versatile usability. I have so far only low to mid-priced shopped and both units of SAMSUNG (Galaxy Y, Galaxy Pocket), and Motorola (Milestone), Sony Ericsson (Xperia Mini Pro) and Alcatel (OT-980) owned, like the LG a have Android operating system as a base.
After all the devices that had partly better and sometimes worse hardware than the LG, I nevertheless came to the conclusion that the district court is the best of all. I want to justify my choice:
The LG E440 has a camera with flash / video LED, which is by no means self-evident for a device in the now low price segment. Furthermore, it has a proximity sensor that also can not boast many devices the price range. The device runs with his "only" 512MB of main memory with Android 4.1.2 pretty fast and without annoying stuttering, at least to my mind. Since I had with the Milestone and especially the Xperia Mini Pro significantly more problems. Even more emphasis seems to have been placed on functionality at LG. So far I have no system-app crashed, or the system is rebooted, unless I wanted to.
Even though I have to agree with other reviewers that the display looks a bit pixelated on closer inspection, so that bothers me is not really in your daily use. The colors are clear, the brightness can be adjusted according to the surrounding conditions well and also the individual configurability (icons, menus, backgrounds, etc.) makes a good impression. There is little that can not be set. Disappointed me in the sense that the settings of the Home-LED are only given for any events. The flashing can indeed for each type (missed calls, SMS, calendar events, etc.) on or exhibit, but a change in the flashing or color is not possible. Priced at under 50 euros, which I saw for the device in a SATURN market, but that is to get over. This is, after all, almost 1/3 under the same Amazon currently.
The grip may be a little better, but there is güntig Silicone Cases. The feel is otherwise really good, because both buttons and touch screen to function flawlessly. The voice quality is really good, even without a second microphone for noise suppression. The speaker is not hi-fi system to compete, but is more than adequate to make calls and listen to music occasionally. At least he Blechert very rare and is the interlocutor again quite clear. For battery life I can say that it takes about 3 days with me to 100% of "play" the battery to about 30% down to. Per day I call about 20-30 minutes in the UMTS network, sending about 10 SMS, Surf the net total of about 1 hour and play from time to time it. WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS and packet data are only switched on when they are needed. Ansosnten they are disabled.
All in all, the E440 is a great device, even though it will certainly always somewhere to give a nicer, faster and generally better equipped technically machine. But I can bargain for my U50 Euro only praise and all inclined buyers issue a buy recommendation.
Thank you very much for your attention.

Updated on 25.11.2014:
I'm still very happy with the E440. Both the battery life, and the speed make it my constant companion. One thing that is but now I noticed by chance, I want to share with you.
By default, the E440 has exactly 3 Home screens that reset after the first time you insert the SIM card as if by magic on default. In the settings you can save your own arrangement and reload - so far so good. But how changes to the number of home screens? In the settings is not an option to be found, nor on the home screen itself. But you can change the number! For this first has to be a change to one of the three home screens. Then you have to move inward toward each other, just as if you want to zoom, two finger from the outside. Suddenly, a menu appears to create Home screens to delete and one of them set as the main screen.
I hope I could help with my update some desperate users.
