Today I received the phone from Amazon and would like to mention just a few things that have struck me so. For dual SIM mode, the most important feature, I can not say anything, because for me only one SIM card is active at the moment. Unfortunately, the phone does not support MicroSIM cards so I only have to get an adapter for my second SIM. I expect here but no surprises there has been already written a lot about the Dual mode.

The phone itself is not exactly the fastest. That would not bother me to continue, because I need it mainly for calls and read emails. The problem though, is that it not only depends, but the gestures then even misinterpreted. To scroll through the list of contacts, for example, or through the Google Market, then interprets the phone with each hanger the scrolling gesture as selecting the menu item. Pressing on the screen is so registered, the swipe your finger but not. This one chooses constantly any menu items accidentally and must constantly jump back to the Back button again. This sucks amazing!

The receipt of the unit is also worse than my old phone. I had previously a Google G1 and an iPhone 4, both of which already are indeed no reception miracle. The duo, however, is even worse and jumps from time to time on Edge where I could work beforehand with UMTS. To have the advantage only carry a cell phone this loss is me but value.

Now a few things that are quite negative I noticed personally. Many of these are small things, but which add up and deteriorate the overall impression for me clearly. For a dual phone which may be placed on the performance of her rather in the lower to mid-range, I would clearly expect it to be aimed at business users. But it seems that Samsung is not quite clear which target group you want to address:

First of all an incredible amount of crap is installed on the phone, the one is God but can uninstall Thanks. It seems that it is slowly coming towards desktop PC, where also most tens of useless applications are pre-installed to push the price. Priced at 250, which is absolutely not justified in this performance class, they have my opinion but rather an Office document viewer (which of course is missing) must drauflegen rather than annoy the user with such a scrap.

What I also noticed negative: There is no single reputable ringtone. The ringtone list is full of jungle tracks and the like trash, but a perfectly normal phone ringing of course missing. Here one wonders again what audience Samsung really wants to achieve.

One last point I want to mention is the browser - or rather the favorites management of your browser. Similar to the pre-installed applications, many favorites are preset in the browser. That in itself would be no problem, if you could delete it - but you can not! If you put now own favorites, then you have this every time from the list of ringtone providers (who sees the irony) and out looking like. This makes the browser pretty useless to me. Here, then, helps only one alternative browser from the Market to install.

In total, there are a few other little things that as a business user as a notice. One must first invest a little time before you can use it properly in the phone unfortunately. Who eh like playing around with his cell phone, the will does not interfere further. However, those who want to work with the pre-installed applications, because he has no nerve or no time to deal with something like that, will be disappointed. Important applications (Office / PDF viewer) and missing a lot of scrap is installed - Business users therefore do not appear to be the primary target group.

Update 09/11/2012:

Have now also the second SIM card put into operation, which ran as expected without complications. The management of both SIM cards is well resolved and you always have full control over which card a call is routed. If you switch from a SIM, the data connection is automatically handled by the other SIM. If one does not want, because you for example on the second card has no data plan, then you have to delete the APN settings for the second SIM.

The battery, I personally find something undersized but this also has its advantages. Due to the small battery the phone is very light and flat and can therefore easily be worn in the jacket without bulging or pulls down a page. Vieltelefonierer could but problems have to get through the day.

Despite the many problems I have decided not to return the phone. The dual-SIM mode is easy to practice and weighs many drawbacks again. Without hesitation I can recommend it, however, by no means. Everyone needs to think about whether he wants to live with the disadvantages mentioned himself.

Contrary to my statement from 09.11.2012 it is still possible the Global Address List on the Exchange server to query. I tried it again today and this time also the global contacts via the contact search were found. Therefore, I have deleted the paragraph of the last update, Exchange Support works so flawlessly. All appointments, contacts and tasks are synchronized and can be edited. The global address list can also be searched.
