Monopoly for football fans

Hasbro B0733100 - Monopoly - The National Board Game (Toy)

Customer Review

To avoid any misunderstandings right at the beginning: It is not about a completely new kind of Monopoly - the rules are the same as in the classical variant. The difference is that is not haggled here to "Post Road" or the "Schlossallee", but to everything that has to do with the past successes of the German national team. Instead Hotels stadiums are being built and the typical characters were replaced with football icons.
But this still means that companies who already finds no pleasure in the normal Monopoly shall never convince this game. For Monopoly fans who are at the same time supporters of the football team, a good idea. Nevertheless, I doubt how much younger football fans can probably start with this edition - the history of the national team enough already some years back and a lot of younger fans identify themselves exclusively with the current team and little interest for the team from 1974 to just one to name an example. Therefore, the game is perhaps still more adult football fans.
One drawback of course is that such an edition is currently always only for a certain period - the success of this year's World Cup in Brazil is now of course not part of the game. This raises the question of whether the game is so still as interesting as before the World Cup, or whether it was appealing only just during this period, as they were all in football fever.
Nevertheless, four stars, since it basically Nonetheless's a beautiful game that maybe then but can win one or two games muffle due to the special theme of its own.
