There are many points in the small print of a warranty extension contract note.
Claim for damages, the buyer generally only if any defects or damage cause to faulty manufacturing or material defects, ie errors by the manufacturer, attributed. Try to 2 or even 5 years to prove the basis of a time in everyday use maltreated and now faulty device, you are not at fault or to blame a normal wear is present, but the manufacturer has to answer for the plight. Your claim you must indeed now prevail over an insurance, because that is now your opponent - the manufacturers interested in the whole thing that is after the regular warranty period no longer.
If your claim for damages actually recognized and then repair are more expensive than the value of the device (and probably by more than 2-5 years almost always be the case!), You would replace the value. The would rather disappointingly low, depending on age and degree of wear of the device. * Repeat * Repair or money you would get only if you could prove the assurance that defects or losses incurred are clearly due to material defects or defective manufacturing of the device !!!
I will spare the reader and me many more words. Who cares for whom I have the link to the detailed and very informative article by Stiftung Warentest housed in the attached comment. (In Review Text Amazon does not tolerate direct links to foreign sites).
Difficult here to forgive star. One means "I do not like" - that fits.
