The Soundbar has a very slim and by the high-gloss finish very elegant. Only the subwoofer appear compared to the soundbar itself slightly clunky, but this is imputable to the technical conditions of a subwoofer. Since the subwoofer is rather invisible placed it interferes little.
I have chosen to connect via HDMI ARC.
Overall, the port on the Soundbar has taken (including unpacking) to the TV only about 20 minutes to complete and is really easy to do.
The Soundbar has a one-line display on which the sound source and the status is displayed. You can dim the display, which only the brightest level really makes sense if you want to see something.
The Soundbar, when connected via HDMI ARC, automatically turns on the remote control of the TV is also in the standby mode. This is very convenient, but the Soundbar via its own remote control must be switched on again.
Furthermore, one of the Soundbar via a touch screen on / off, and select the audio source and adjust volume.
However, I do not personally use these buttons, as the remote control is very clear and you can control all the settings above.
It is also given the option of connecting a USB device, or to use the 3.5mm jack for other audio source.
On the remote control, you can select any audio source using a private key. Furthermore, bass, treble, the sound delay and the aforementioned Dimming the display on the remote controllable.
Based on a sound button you can select preset sound parameters (equalizer), and the virtual surround sound on or off.
A particularly successful feature is the ability appliances which are connected via Bluetooth and USB to control via the Play / Pause and Skip buttons / on-rewind. I have linked my smartphone via Bluetooth and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to control the music using the buttons above via the remote control of the soundbar.
After I explained the connection and operating options, let me now turn to the sound.
One has to wonder what's next for a sound from such a small soundbar. The bass is pleasantly dull and does not sound like a growl. The sound itself is clear and not distorted.
The switching of virtual surround sound resembles that of a real surround, but is understandably not quite to this approach.
Nevertheless, one can say that in terms of value for money of the Soundbar is definitely an alternative to the more expensive surround sound systems.
If you set a price limit, you should not be in his choice of sound system the Soundbar HTL2163B / 12 aside.
