More than just a fun-optics

While higher fisheye lenses generally offer a picture angle of 180 degrees, the Olympus Body Lens Cap has 9mm 1: 8.0 only 140 degrees. That's still more than a super wide angle, but still is the danger constantly mitzufotografieren his own feet, slightly smaller.

To make it short: I love the snapping with the part a lot of fun. VLT. also precisely because there are neither manual or autofocus a shutter adjustment possibility. The motto is therefore: lid on it, slide on and concentrate on the subject. Finally fit the entire landscape on the picture, and in surprisingly good quality. With the 12-40mm 2.8, the lid can not begin to keep up in terms of sharpness and resolution course. In the border region there is at high contrasts even slight color fringes. But the picture quality is far better than what I would have expected at the price.

From the material quality I would classify the Deckelchen rather than simple. It is made entirely of plastic, the front slider is extremely smooth in my copy, concluded with the barely perceptible click stops, setting infinitely, setting closer than infinity and setting 0.2 meters. I hope this small lever has grown the continuous operation.

Overall, I would the Olympus Body Lens Cap 9mm not call it pure fun lens. It is fair to make very attractive pictures with unusual perspective effects so. And with the space and weight of a simple lens cap can also be transported loose in the second lens pouch shirt. Try that with the Olympus Zuiko 8mm F3.5 Fisheye Lens Diagonal! ;-)

Five stars I give to a lot of thinking because the part's really great fun without bulk thick. I would consider the price and the quality of construction, I would have to deduct 1 to 2 stars.
