Presentation and packaging of Rowenta DW9240 is definitely a highlight. Currently there are the proud purchase price, after all, a clock and a travel iron DA1510 bargain free above. Unfortunately, I need neither, so that these bonuses are only moderately attractive.
The Iron looks very appealing and well thought out. For example, the reversible tip and the flexible mounted 360 ° cable.
When the "Commissioning" but first disillusionment: It almost does not see the water level. The dark plastic housing can only imagine with very good lighting a look at the fill level. And that from a brand that really is not a newcomer in the field ... Positive means putting yourself going very well.
We continue with the operation. There are apparently only 2 options: a steam or steam. The amount of steam can be influenced indirectly then only on the temperature setting. The rest is done the "Automatic". Neither I, nor the other testers were convinced. It just takes too much steam in an uncontrolled way. Especially in difficult places, where you have access to the iron the fabric very close, this is a disaster. The one or other combustion is there actually guaranteed. Only in the case of large areas, such. As the back of a shirt, the amount of steam was a pleasant plus.
Compared to the Tefal Rowenta slipped incidentally almost "scratching" on the material surfaces. Of special gliding definitely can be no question. On stage 3 and bulky steam output it is indeed much better (one has the feeling that the iron is carried by the steam), but the tank was empty then after about 1.5 Shirts!
In undershirts he held, however, significantly longer, about 6 parts long before the machine is humming - after all: A convenient hint function.
Thanks measuring cup of water consumption has been well recognized. Almost 0.4 liters fit into the tank (according to stated supposedly only 320 ml), to the Max line is reached. One might think that you really should thus come on.
Further negative we noticed the button on the handle base. It actually requires him only if large folds to make the fabric again really wet. Resorting we did not have it yet, but there have regularly done unintentionally ... very annoying.
Positive highlight was actually the drip-stop, which unfortunately does not always work. Perhaps a defect, or perhaps just the right degree for a really mittelklassiges product.
What we get then? A significantly higher power consumption (2400 W Tefal, 3100 W Rowenta), more steam (the but rather ends up in the environment than in the clothes) and thus possibly a chic curly hair, poorer sliding properties (even when compared to the old, "cheap" - Rowenta!), a very heavy iron and ironing no better results than the other two test candidates.
That the equation "High price and good quality = better" does not apply everywhere, may indeed always be a very reluctant thought at first, but here I just do not see any added value.
Viewed in isolation, one could think about 3 star.
Due to the direct comparison, the enormously high purchase price and the empty advertising promises, they say, however: "I do not like" - and thus 2 stars.
Would it in the same price class as the Tefal play, I would still advise against it.
Who really wants to properly steam, should engage in ordinary ironing system he prefers. The then enough even for a couple of shirts more ;-)
