We decided this time due to the numerous positive reviews and tests but also because of a lot of advertising for Brita Maxtra. The price, compared to the competitors is set significantly higher. After the ordering process was completed, it took as usual a few days until the shipment arrived with us.
First, notice that the processing of the case in the filter by Britta is simply impeccable. In detail, it means that the lid is perfectly adapted to the housing and falls when filling the kettle not just get out / down (well not if even a portion of the unfiltered water in the upper part of the filter is located). The filter change indicator can in no way compete with the indeed very primitive but extremely effective and accurate filter change indicator of Anna / PearlCo filter. We have a filter change indicator that prompts to change the filter when the filter change after four weeks to have (the actual amount of water is not counted). For Anna / PearlCo any water-filling was counted. There is probably an opportunity for Britta to include any water filling, but will cost a few dollars more - even though I have not seen such a counter (the Anna / PearlCo there is nothing - I know from experience).
In operation occurred compared to Anna / PearlCo after only two weeks on the ground that the kettle was formed of lime! When Anna / PearlCo the filter cartridges held but for three weeks, and indeed without any limescale were visible. The water flow rate (filtration rate) at Brita Maxtra remains even when you can depend on in the fourth week almost as high as on the first day as the new filter cartridge is inserted. For Anna / PearlCo the filtration rate decreases steadily. Well, what can I say here Brita went well prepared to neglect the quality of the filtration, by many so acclaimed to keep filtration rate. Only what brings high filtration rate (in our case, in the third week), if no filtration takes place ?! However, in the first two weeks, the water quality was comparable to the competition after the filter cartridge.
If someone has only nice and clear filtered water, you will have to resort more often and much deeper into their pockets at Brita. Here it is nice to use the comparison portals on the Internet because each falls on the same that 12 Brita Maxtra cartridges cost twice as much as the 12 cartridges from Anna. I think one would want to buy filter cartridges of PearlCo, so they are in the same price range as the Brita Maxtra. The filter cartridges of PearlCo keep it but longer! For Anna / PearlCo you can buy very cheap filter cartridges of course, but these do not have good performance and are more likely to be thrown away. As it is with the filter cartridges quality of other filter manufacturers for Brita Maxtra, we do not know
Because for us the quality of the filtered water plays a greater role than the filtration rate, we will probably buy more no filter cartridges for Brita Maxtra our.
That Brita Maxtra is not recommended, I can not necessarily say (VLT. Brita is of interest to Little Tea coffee drinkers). But we are absolutely dissatisfied with the product. Here our Star award:
Housing: five star
Promised filter performance: -
Counter: -
Filter cartridges Price: -
Thus, the vote totals from four points to 1.25 stars. Thus, the price / performance ratio is negative (high price and little power).
