While hiking, I use the mobile phone in the meantime, already better than my Garmin to navigate. For longer hikes (with my mobile phone in about 5-6 hours) the built-in battery is times from the juice. The battery pack allows me day hikes without a mobile phone failure.
What else is practical:
+ A charge status indicator showing the actual state of charge of the battery pack.
+ Auto-Off function when no device draws more power.
+ Built-in emergency flashlight (can be very handy when traveling)
+ Various adapters for Micro-USB, Mini-USB, eggs Phone are included. These are somewhat lebrös (little reassuring / stable). A micro-USB adapter has been damaged while traveling.
+ Two USB ports allow the simultaneous loading (1x500mA, 1x2000mA)
+ So far, no significant loss of capacity (bought in October 2012)
- Recharging the battery pack takes a long time
- The label of the two USB ports (1x500mA, 1x2000mA) is difficult to read. I have taken the 2000mA port a red dot with a permanent marker.
- The blue LED's can be quite bright at night in the hotel room. Advantage: The path to the bathroom succeed even in the dark. Disadvantage: The sleep may be disturbed, then the battery pack just turn around (LEDs down).
Conclusion: highly recommended
