So far I had not with the 8-fold even with the 4-fold DVDs from Platinum problems. By combining GSA-4120B of Fa. LG and Nero 6, the 8-speed discs could even describe with 12x speed. The drive throttled though sporadically the speed, so that the write operation was irregular, but it worked. With my previous drive NEC ND-1100A I had to initially uncomplicated experience sometime but problems. The drive went into his safe write mode with only 2.4-fold speed. The interesting thing was, for all my disposal at this time DVD-brands to hit this. Granted, there were brands, which have so far not very well established in the market. Only the 4-fold DVDs from Platinum, this could be described with 4x speed as before.
Also CDs of Platinum I have in use. They are still legible, though they have been reported years ago with drives, which I no longer possess long. It's just my experience, but they say to me of some. Due to the accuracy and the reliability for years are the discs of Platinum whether CDs or DVDs my favorite discs.
