The three extra songs are revealing and yet at that time probably not been published legitimately by Paul. They throw a very interesting light on the genesis of a Simon-CD. Homeless sounds in the early version as an early-1960's Simon song with Kantor's voice.
The contributors Los Lobos to have been voted ungracious to Paul Simon. The song 'All around the world' is not at all been done, they would have also deserved credit for this, so an interview. When I hear these earlier versions, you could have a little right.
But Paul Simon is not in vain as sound and music inventor who with his longtime producing partner Roy Halee handed in at the end of one of his greatest masterpieces here. Herrlich.
I would have otherwise stammer ecstatic enthusiasm, because it's one of my main favorite discs. "Graceland" brought the powerful South African music in a new shape into the western consciousness. The lyrics are poetic as hidden highly political (Homeless). Suddenly South Africa and its apartheid regime fell back into the light of the general public.
Paul Frederic Simon won musical reinforcement as: Joseph Shabalalas Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ray Phiri's Stimela, Linda Ronstadt and Los Lobos mentioned (and this before La Bamba made this famous).
One of the discs for the desert island (with solar-powered CD player, I mean). :-)
