Most have thrilled me Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried.
Meryl Streep had to fulfill in my opinion the most difficult task, because the role of Donna was now really, but especially interpreted world various musical women in many different ways at the highest level. Meryl Streep has but found their own way to sing the songs and makes recognizable. Her style is but certainly not please everyone, because they interpreted the pieces from scratch, can in this case but also in any pigeonhole. My personal highlights are definitely "Money, Money, Money" and "The winner takes it all". The Meryl Streep can sing stand for "A Prairie Home Companion" and "Postcards from the Edge" anyway no question, but my expectations were far exceeded. Her voice can be converted like herself, she sings absolutely emotional and above all authentic. And that's what I appreciate so: their interpretation does not sound rehearsed or "runtergesungen", but as if she would sing like it just comes into her mind and the most fun. I take my hat!
Amanda Seyfried was for me a special surprise, because I had not anticipated that so impressed me. She has a wonderfully clear and sympathetic voice that I could listen to for hours. Her voice is lively, young, modern, fresh, and fits nicely with the music of ABBA. You might even think the music had been written for them. It just fits. In their songs, I miss absolutely nothing. Perfect in every way.
Christine Baranski and Julie Walters put off a good vocal performance, although I must say here that I have somewhere been missing the last bit of both. It remains to be seen as acting on the canvas.
The Fathers Group is unfortunately weaker overall than the ladies.
Absolutely great I think Colin Firth. He sounds totally for me to Harry. I can not say why, but just as I would imagine that Harry sings. An absolute hit.
Stellan Skarsgard is fine. It's a shame that you can not get hear the fearless adventurer from his voice, but the true even more goes towards Harry.
A vocally absolute mistake there but to manifest. Pierce Brosnan unfortunately do not like me. His pieces look dull and tired. "When all is Said and Done", one of my favorite songs, unfortunately, he has totally messed up ... but above all, it sounds like it was made for the first time in his life before a huge audience and to sing. In his songs, I'm just not shake the feeling that it is a little embarrassing to him to sing. Yet respect that he has ever dared.
But important to stress are the wonderful arrangements !!! The actually still contemporary ABBA tunes were dusted off and polished up beautifully. They still have the same character are somewhat fresh, pepper spray and fun and good humor. Genial is "Voulez-Vous" and especially "Money, Money, Money": the electric guitar gives the song nor the icing on the cake.
Conclusion: The songs sings refreshingly different from the musical versions and for some musical fans may not be as compelling. The grandiose arrangements and the outstanding types "singers" Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried can ignore a problems on smaller weaknesses and even great mistakes. I'll probably still bless my neighbors for some time with this music, because of the fun factor is huge, and the songs sound like fun, dancing and singing along. And I'm really looking forward to the movie !!
