Customer Review

So there is the new Halestorm album. The anticipation was huge on my part. Plain and simply because Halestorm belong to a few newer rock bands that can really inspire.
At times youth rock music has influenced me the most. In the 10-15 years when it comes to rock music was not much going on for me personally, however. On the one hand, there is little bands that really evolve the genre and explore new directions, on the other hand a lot of bands sound are following a classic rock approach in my ears wanted cramped etc.
Halestorm reinvent the wheel also not new, but their classic rock approach I really liked. Ever since I first heard Love Bites, I am enthusiastic about the band. You can literally hear fun and passion for music. Completely relaxed and extremely energetic. On the first two albums they celebrate just to classic rock music. These two excellent EPs come with covers that are just fun.
Halestorm have earned a permanent place on my MP3 player.
As the new album was announced, I was looking forward accordingly. If the style of the first two albums continued consistently? Is that possible, without being boring and arbitrarily? Or the band changed musically, and thus is of course the risk that fans will be disappointed?
As can be seen here at some negative reviews, the band has changed musically. The full-throttle sound of the first two albums (interrupted each about 3 ballads) is not drawn here so consistently.
Yes, the album as a whole is more peaceful than the first two. Where quiet can be seen very relative. There's still plenty of power, energy and speed in the music. The album still rocks. Whoever disagrees, perhaps listening only speed metal. Or I find the sound still rock, because I usually only hear Helene Fischer.
But seriously. Yes, the number of mid-tempo songs is considerably higher than the first two albums. But I like this much better than the slow songs from the old albums, I often skipped. The slow songs here often have a crisp rhythm and have also created complex.
If I had to try to describe the music in images, then I would say this is a record I want to listen to me in a bar playing pool. Or while I ride the Route 66 along in a convertible. If you can understand what I mean.
In summary, I can only say that this plate is simply great music. Halestorm have a great feeling for catchy melodies and make it great, uninhibited music that's fun. And of course there's this fantastic singer who crowns this music with her voice.
So if you really want to just flat out music, which should be careful here. However, if you look for good rock music and is a bit more open for a varied sound, which can only recommend this album.
